The COPO

The COPO was an aluminum LZ-1 engine that GM made in 1968. Fred Gibb was the drivng force behind it. COPO stands for Central Office Production Offer, 50 of them were first produced| The agreement was that Fred Gibb had to produce 50 of these “Central Office Production Offer” engine or COPO for short|There were only 50 of these COPO engines produced (Central Office Production Offer)}There was only 19 cars sold with the engine installed. It was a large 427 CI Engine in a small light body

The improved Camaro

In 1969, the largest engine GM would offer was the 6.6L. The 1969 Camaro for sale was a much safer car. In some 1969 camaro for sale you could find the 7Liter engine. These were installed by the dealer. GM would add another COPO to the list with the numbers 9560 and 9561. The COPO 9561 option came with the L-72 Corvette engine. The numbers were limited with only 1,015 of the 9560&9561 made. The 9560 option included the ZL-1 (7 L). These ones were even rarer, with only 69 produced

What changes took place over these years?
